The Disciples Unbelief

Text: Luke 24:1-12
Title: "The Disciples Unbelief"

This is the second "official" sermon that I preached.  So far I have not found the text of this sermon, but I do have the audio which is available here.  The beginning includes some information on the mission's trip to Haiti, from which I had just returned.

From my log I noted the following incident in Haiti:

Preached evening service at the first service of a new independent Baptist church begun in the back alleys of Port-au-Prince.
The building was about a 10' x 10' block house, with some chairs, one table, and one light bulb hanging in the middle.  There were about 38 folks inside, and many more outside.  Haitian preacher Lucas was supposed to preach, but got cold feet at the last minute.  Our group sang two specials, which the folks really enjoyed.  With very little preparation, and much fear and trembling, I preached from Acts 17:23-27, "The Unknown God."  We had 4 professions of faith, and 2 came for healing, one for a dying baby.
