God created the world in 6 days, and rested on the 7th

God required of the Nation of Israel that the earth give its harvest for 6 years, and be rested on the 7th

The number 7 in the Bible seems to indicate perfection or completion

God uses a thousand years as one day in His timetable, but this may be just an abstract number for a long time period (2 Pet. 3:8)

From the creation of man until the birth of Christ was 4,000 years. From Christ until now has been almost 2,000 years, which leaves 1,000 years (the millennium) for the earth to be "rested"

The Catching Away

The catching away (rapture) is an event that will take off this earth every person who has trusted Jesus Christ as his/her Saviour, plus those deemed by God to be in "innocence" or "under the blood."  The Bible says;

God will send a strong delusion ("a wandering, seduction from the truth), and those that are left will believe A lie (2 Thess. 2:11)
A lie will be told by the man of sin/Antichrist (2 Thess. 2:3), who comes in Satan’s power, with signs, and lying wonders (2 Thess. 2:9) to attempt to usurp the position of God

On Earth

The man of sin/Antichrist, who will be a man working under the authority and power of Satan, will step to center stage from the European Common Market alliance. He will make a 7 year agreement with Israel, promising them the possession of their land, and full religious and political autonomy (Dan. 9:27)
The continuing building/strengthening of a one world apostate religion (Rev. 17 "Woman")
The continuing building/strengthening of a one world government (Dan. 7:7)
The building or completion of the Jewish Temple (Rev. 11:1-2)
The continued gathering of the Jews to Israel from every nation (Ez. 37:1-14)

7 Years of Tribulation—First 3 1/2 Years

The man of sin/Antichrist will consolidate his power with threats of war (Rev. 6:1-2)
The man of sin/Antichrist will consolidate his power by the destruction of his enemies (Rev. 6:3-4)
The man of sin/Antichrist will control the distribution of basic foods, withholding them and causing famine, while at the same time providing the rich with the best of foods (Rev. 6:5-6)
The man of sin/Antichrist unleashes Death and Hell (personified) to kill 25% of the world’s population through murder, hunger, various forms of death, and by wild animals or ungodly, evil leaders (Rev. 6:7-8)
Many/all who openly receive Christ as their Saviour during this time will be martyred ("killed") (Rev. 6:9-11)
Two witnesses (Jews) will be sealed (protected) by God for 3 1/2 years for evangelism. If any man hurt ("to do wrong, injure") either of these men, fire will come out of their mouths and kill them. They will have the power to stop rain, turn water into blood, and to smite the earth with plagues (Rev. 11:3-6)
Near the end of the 3 1/2 years there will be a tremendous earthquake, the sun will turn black, the moon will be the color of blood, the stars fall from heaven, some hitting the earth, the heaven will depart as a scroll, and every mountain and island will be moved out of their place. Because of this tremendous upheaval, every man, rich or poor, will attempt to hide themselves from God (Rev. 6:12-17)

7 Years of Tribulation—Middle Period

The man of sin/Antichrist continues to strengthen his position by the power of Satan
The man of sin/Antichrist breaks the 7 year agreement with Israel (Dan. 9:27)
144,000 Jews (12,000 from each of the 12 tribes) are sealed (protected) by God to evangelize the world (Rev. 7:3-4)
The Jews flee Jerusalem/Israel to find protection from the Antichrist in the caves of Petra
The false religious prophet comes into prominence
The image of the man of sin/Antichrist is set up and worshipped by law (Rev. 12:14-15)
Mark of the beast is given, without which no one can buy or sell (Rev. 13:16-18). This mark is man’s eternal doom.

7 Years of Tribulation—Last 3 1/2 Years

Hail and fire mixed with blood will fall to the earth, killing 1/3 of all the trees and all the grass (Rev. 8:7)
A great burning mass falls into the sea (Mediterranean Sea?), 1/3 of it becomes blood, 1/3 of the sea life dies, and 1/3 of the ships are destroyed (Rev. 8:8-9)
A great burning star falls from heaven making 1/3 of the rivers, and of the rivers’ source bitter, causing many men to died from drinking the water (Rev. 8:10-11)
1/3 of the shining of the sun, moon, and stars is darkened, plunging 1/3 of day and night into total darkness (Rev. 8:12)
An angel flies through the heavens warning men of the coming judgments on earth (Rev. 8:13)
The bottomless pit (where the most wicked of the demons were chained; Jude 6) is opened. The smoke from the pit darkens the sun. Locust-like demons are released to torment ("torture") men on earth for 5 months, striking men scorpion-like to the extent that men will desire to die, but can’t. In the form of a horse, with a man’s face, hair like a women’s, teeth like a lion’s, tails like scorpion’s, an iron breast-plate, a crown on their head, wings to fly, and stingers in their tails.
200 million horsemen are released from the Euphrates River (Western Asia), on horses with breastplates of fire, heads as lion’s, spewing smoke, brimstone, and fire from their mouths, with tails like a many-headed serpent (which kill with its bite), which kill 1/3 of the remaining men on earth (Rev. 9:15-19). (Over 1/2 of the earth’s inhabitants have now been killed.)
The two witnesses are killed in Jerusalem (at the end of God’s purpose), and their bodies are laid in the street for 3 1/2 days, with the whole world watching. At the end of the 3 1/2 days, God gives them back their life, they stand upon their feet and ascend into the clouds with the whole world watching (Rev. 11:7-12). A great earthquake shakes Jerusalem, 1/10th of the city falls, 7,000 men are killed (Rev. 11:13)
Lightning, thunder, another great earthquake, and hail hit the earth (Rev. 11:19)
An angel flies through heaven proclaiming the "Good News" of God’s coming judgment (Rev. 14:9-11)
Another angel proclaims the fall of Babylon (commercial world) (Rev. 14:8)
A third angel proclaims the eternal end of those that have the mark of the beast (Rev. 14:9-11)
Noisome ("bad") and grievous ("causing pain, malignant") boils appear on all those with the mark of the beast, and those that worshipped the image of the Antichrist (Rev. 16:2)
The seas become as the blood of a dead man, and every sea creature dies (and probably every ship at sea) (Rev. 16:3)
Every river and spring becomes like blood (Rev. 16:4)
The heat of the sun is increased and men are scorched with "great heat" (Rev. 16:9)
Darkness is cast over the kingdom of Antichrist to such a depth that men are in pain, gnawing their tongues from the heat and darkness(Rev. 10)
The river Euphrates is dried up, and the nations of the world prepare to assemble in Israel to do battle with each other (Rev. 16:12-14)
Lightning, thunders, and the greatest earthquake the world has ever seen causes Jerusalem to be split into 3 parts, all the cities of the other nations to fall, every mountain and island to disappear, and 100 lb hail falls upon the earth (Rev. 16:18-21)
Commercial Babylon and religious Rome are destroyed (Rev. 18:8)
The 144,000 sealed Jews are removed from the earth (Rev. 14:1-5)

7 Years of Tribulation—The End

First 30 days. Judgment of the "Nations"

Those still alive, but in rebellion to Christ (goats), are cast into Hell (Rev. 11:18; Matt. 25:31-46)
Those still alive, but having shown their trust in Christ (sheep), enter the 1,000 year Millennial kingdom (Matt. 25:34)

Next 45 days

Resurrection of godly Old. Testament Jews (Dan. 12:13)
Resurrection of Tribulation saints (considered with Jewish economy) (Dan. 12:13)
Establishment of millennial government

The 1,000 Year Reign Of Christ

Jesus Christ will rule the world with a rod of iron from Jerusalem
Everyone will worship Christ there (Isa. 2:2-3)
The curse will be lifted from the earth
The lion will lay down with the lamb, and a child shall lead both of them (Isa. 11:6-9)
Lifespans will be greatly increased (a child shall be 100 yrs. old)
Only those that believe in Jesus Christ will enter the millennium, but many children will be born and many will refuse Christ as Saviour though He will be their king
At the end of the of the millennium, Satan will be released for a short time, and will assemble all those that have rejected Christ for one final battle, once again around Jerusalem (Rev. 20:7-9)
Fire will come down from God out of Heaven and consume them all (Rev. 20:9)
Satan is cast into the Lake of Fire (Rev. 20:10)

The Great White Throne Judgment, where every person who has rejected Jesus Christ as Saviour stands before God in the final judgment, is found guilty, and is cast into the Lake of Fire forever (Rev. 20:11-15)
A new Heaven and a new earth is created (Rev. 21:1)
Eternity for the saved begins
